Item details

Welcome! This is a very new shop and I'll be adding lots of other items soon. Look out for more hip bags, hip pouches, bags, hats, aprons, coin pouches, tote bags and shoulder bags. All made from recycled, salvaged or found materials.

I love making things from discarded materials - and this pvc was easy to keep out of landfill - such strong colours! I'm from a nautical family and still enjoy sailing my dinghy around Mount's Bay so a marine theme for the scraps was a no-brainer. Nautical flags are used in dinghy and yacht racing to communicate when to set off and which direction to go in. Very Important!

It occurred to me that the very formal nautical meaning for the letters could be translated so that they have more pertinance in ordinary life. Here are my efforts to translate:

T - at sea- means 'Keep clear, engaged in trawling'. Translated it could be ' Keep away from me!'
Z - at sea - means 'I require a tug'. Translated it could be 'pull me out of this mess!'

More nautical flag bags to be listed - but if you'd like particular letters please get in touch
