The original is a painting on paper, semi-abstract and collage. It emerged as one of a series after my time working as an artist in the Clyde shipyards in Glasgow. At the time, nobody seemed interested in the shipyards or what was going on right under their noses, as a massive ship took shape in the middle of the city- one of a long line of constructions. It's all changed now, the yard is a shadow of its former self, but I am glad I was there to witness the last days and see the old boys out.
