Item details

A one-off, unique piece of art. The wood is taken from a flowering cherry tree that had died in the garden of our new house. I have never seen this tree alive but when I cut into it I saw the most beautiful, pale white wood. The bark has a rough texture that I haven't seen elsewhere. Matched up with a black (ebony) stained Ash frame, the contrast in colour is amazing.

There is no more of this wood available so this is truly a unique piece of art for your wall.

When we moved into the house there were a number of flowering cherry trees where the main tree had died off. When I cut into this one piece and found the extreme, pale white coloured wood the idea for this work of art appeared.
