Item details

This is an original lino print on 100% Irish Linen. The design is developed from sketches of The Fishing Beach in Hastings and the block was cut and printed by hand. it is approximately 38 x 8 inches in size.

This print is in two layers with dark blue ink on a lighter blue pattern based on water. It is printed onto an ecru-coloured linen base.
The fabric is stretched onto a wooden frame and finished with cloth tape.
As these are unique and hand-printed, each one will vary a little in colour and pressure.

Local pick-up from TN34 is possible free of charge.

I'm inspired by the place I live and wanted to try to make sense of the shapes in the busy fishing beach. I like using this long horizontal, or scroll format.
I printed with blue as I liked the suggestion of the patterns on ceramics and tiles.
Originally, I printed onto the linen by walking across the block on the floor to get enough pressure. Recently, I adapted a small press by creating a long bed. This is much more reliable!
