This is an original painting of a hare painted on decoupaged music paper from the 1800s.

The painting is in acrylic and has been varnished for protection. It looks wonderful on the wall filling a small space or displayed on a small pine easel, (included in price) on a bookcase or windowsill.
The canvas measures16cm x12cm x 1.5cm.
Easel is approximately 22cm high.

The canvas is completely painted in a neutral colour. I then select some antique paper ( text from 19th century Punch magazine or a two hundred year old Chinese/English dictionary, hundred year old music paper or ancient maps) which is applied to the canvas; I then seal the paper on to the canvas. This is a stressful time because sometimes the paper just will not sit flat, which is very frustrating, and a waste of resources! I then draw my image on to the canvas and paint in acrylic. I like to allow words or particular phrases to show through, it adds texture and at times certain quirkiness. The finished painting is then varnished to protect it. As you can see it can be a lengthy process.

Please note that these are hand painted items, they are unique. Because of the decoupage and layers of soft gel gloss and acrylic paint there are wrinkles and bumps and texture, this adds to the overall charm of the piece. I love them and I hope you will too!
