The outline of a yellow flower with stem is carefully handstitched onto handmade silk paper for this unique greetings card. Embedded within the silk paper are a few dried slivers of plant leaves as well as yellow and silver fibres.

It takes me about an hour to make the silk paper as I need to make sure it's fused together and this process is lengthy. Then about another half an hour to embroider the flower outline and add the stem.

- white 290gsm card
- 125mm x 125mm (5"x5")
- left blank inside for your own message.
- comes with a plain white envelope
- will be posted to you 2nd class Royal Mail in a hard-backed envelope.
- card will be wrapped in tissue paper instead of a plastic cello bag in order to reduce plastic waste

Please note that because this item is handmade, the flower and silk paper backing may differ slightly in size and arrangement from the image shown above. Because of the nature of silk paper the backing is fragile, so please handle this card with care.

Last posting dates for Christmas delivery: Wednesday 18th December for 2nd Class and Royal Mail Signed for 2nd Class. Friday 20th December for 1st Class and Royal Mail Signed for 1st Class.

I love creating new textures by making handmade silk paper and I can never exactly replicate the same effect twice. The flower head is based on my sketches of Nigella flowers from our back garden that I am constantly drawing.
