Item details

The image is semi-abstract but inspired by the landscape of Northern England, specifically the Dales of Durham and Yorkshire. It is one of a series, provisionally called 'Ancient Landscape' inspired by the rock carvings, standing stones and stone circles of the Neolithic period and by other land art from many periods such as the white horses of southern England, Nasca Lines and the Mound peoples of North America. The reference to hammer marks is a link to the history of the Dales, which have been mined for silver, lead and gold since before Roman times as well as quarried for stone for building.

The print has been made on Somerset printing paper about 300gsm. The image size is about 300mm by 225mm (12" x 9"), on paper 420mm x 350mm (16.5" x 13.75"). The image is sold unframed and unmounted. The frame shown is for illustration only and is not included in the price. The frame and mount shown have been software generated.

The price is for the physical image only.
