Item details

A 65 mm diameter, grey coloured flower brooch warmed with hints of gold and bronze.
The petals are made of a steel grey taffeta with a warm tawny grey centre made from a tawny glass pebble woven around with a peyote stitch bezel of bronze coloured and transparent seed beads with aluminium coated fire polished beads.
The back of the brooch is lined with felt and has a stainless steel brooch pin.
The bead weaving thread is 6 lb fireline beading/fishing line.

I have been making flower based brooches over this summer, but the time had come for a variation in direction. I wasn't ready to leave my love of florals.....so I changed the colour scheme. After making a sophisticated silver grey floral brooch, I warmed the colour scheme, looking to the colour combinations of vintage jewellry - especially using marquesite and pyrites iron oxide stones.
