When I lived in Greece in 2013, I would often see these plants climbing up rocky shoreline. I was inspired by the beautiful vivid colour palette knowing its delicate variation would translate beautiful in coloured pencil. The original of the illustration is now lives in a vintage frame (framed by me) in interior stylist and award-winning blogger Emily Murray's "Pink House" @pinkhouseliving, pictured here.
