Oak is our bread and butter timber when it comes to furniture and occasionally a full kitchen although thanks to cheap foreign imports which are sometimes not what they appear to be, the market has become a little crowded. This table is made with premium English Oak which has more character than the European and American white Oak. It is handbuilt with correct joints and a solid subframe and chunky legs. Very solid, it will take a lot of abuse and any dinks or marks can be easily dealt with. We wanted to make a table that is a little more tactile and natural from your standard square edge efforts and enjoyed using a traditional and rather ancient adzing tool to lighly shave shape into the edges and legs. Sometimes the old ways are the better ways.
