Recently shortlisted for the Evening Standard Art Prize.
An original piece of hand-stitched artwork made from discarded materials and vintage thread.
It will never be printed or reproduced in any way.
All proceeds from this sale, after postal, Folksy and Paypal (or other form of check-out payment) deductions, will go to Arts Emergency. This is a small London based charity aiming to ensure university doors are kept open for those most able to benefit from, but least able to pay for education.
I have taken strips from the front page of the Metro newspaper (see image above), and sewn onto handmade paper (from a charity shop), then stitched onto watercolour paper (also from a charity shop).
I have explained the materials and its making in greater detail here: alisonsye.wordpress.com/2017/07/05/towers/
The piece measures approximately 29 x 34cms (inc border), with an additional small border for your framer to play with. The frame in the image (Habitat) is not included.
To avoid fading the newsprint keep out of direct sunlight. If framing use UV protection or museum glass.
The price includes 'signed for' delivery, within the UK. I will not be posting this piece overseas.
Can be sent as a gift with words of your choice.
