Everything listed here that says silver is sterling silver, I do not use silver plate at all. There will be elements of sterling silver in every design, some will be completely so, others may have combinations of copper, brass, bronze, glass, enamel, pewter and semi-precious stones as well.
Seahorse brooch, cut from an etched sheet of pewter. Approximately 5cms long. Finished with a sterling silver fastener. The fastener has been applied using glue as pewter fires at a much lower temperature than silver, making soldering problematical.
Despatched in a presentation box via the Royal Mail Signed For service and this is included in the price in the UK. Cleaning guide included.
Note: the pewter that you find today, including the metal that I use, does not contain lead anymore, consequently it is a lot shinier. Pewter is an alloy consisting mainly of tin though it also contains very small amounts of copper and antimony. It is definitely lead and nickel-free.
I like to make animal jewellery and I'm finding that a lot of people like wearing my designs, especially the brooches. I'm always being told that brooches aren't fashionable but tell my customers that - who wants to be "fashionable" when you can be original instead?
