Speckled Wood on Bramble.
Description
In early spring the Speckled Wood butterfly appears, in some years I have seen them still on the wing as late as October and early November. This is an original water colour of this species,painted on hot pressed paper approx 15x 13 cm.
Inspiration
I was out and about on a warm day in May when a Specked Wood landed on some Bramble, it was a pretty little insect and I felt the need to do a painting.
