At 23cm long, this spoon has a larger bowl and a longer handle than the small eaters I usually make - making it ideal for cooking. The asymmetric shape of the spoon’s bowl adds versatility which allows you to scrape the remnants from most pots and pans, while the crooked neck would makes it ideal for scooping the bottom of a fairly deep salad bowl.

No two spoons are the same, but this has been embellished with a small rounded finial carved on top and some decorative engraving (known as kolrosing) on the front. An initial of your choice can be added to the kolrosed emblem on the handle.

Your spoon will be wrapped in tissue paper and ribbon before being posted first class. If looked after and washed after each use with warm soapy water, it will last a lifetime.

Like all of my spoons, this was lovingly hand crafted using only an axe and a couple of knives, before finishing with a coat of linseed oil. I avoid sanding so that the tool marks are left to tell a story.

This wood was locally sourced - harvested from a site in Glasgow where Sycamore is regarded a weed which shades out the original Oak/Ash woodlands. So as well as supporting me and my family, your purchase would help towards the management and conservation of this fragile habitat.
