Item details

These decorations are made from discarded glasses lenses from the optical industry. Each one is a different prescription, size, shape and thickness.

I fell in love with these lenses even before I knew what I was going to do with them!

Before the drawing takes place the lenses have to be cleaned of the opticians markings and have a hanging hole drilled into them.

Then using an electric engraver I draw freehand an Eliza heart design onto one side and the name of your choosing, or initials incorporated into the design on the other.

Each one is a unique combination of design, size and prescription, some even have bi-focal sections on them!

As they are all hand drawn they will all be slightly different, all come supplied with a white hanging ribbon and are delivered in a custom made gift envelope with tag and ribbon.

They look beautiful where the light can get to them.

All of the lenses I have are clear in colour. Some may have react-to-light properties as in the photo but I cannot guarantee this.

Would make great gifts or decorations for a party.

I am passionate about recycling and used to volunteer at my local scrap store, a place that rescues waste from landfill and sells it to artists and schools. The glasses lenses came into the store and I fell in love with them, even before I knew what I could do with them.So I bought a few to experiment with.
Then went back and bought the rest!
Each one is a different size, shape and prescription. Each one unique.
