Item details
Gansey sweaters were traditionally worn by fishermen with each village having its own distinctive pattern. A true gansey is hand knit using 5 needles to eliminate seams, which would weaken the garment and let in wind and rain. I have used these historic techniques to create my hand knits featuring the Staithes pattern.
