Mixed media painting on canvas of Delilah. A creation of my imagination.

The stretched canvas was firstly painted with acrylics and collaged with various papers. Her face was then drawn with vine charcoal and sealed. I then painted her with more acrylic paints and finally sealed her with two coats of acrylic archival satin varnish.

She is 60cm x 80cm x 1.5cm /23.75 inch x 31.5inch x 0.75inch approx.
She is signed on the front, sealed with archival varnish and ready to hang.

I wanted to fill my first large canvas with colour, which was a little daunting. I took the canvas outside in the warm evening sun and firstly covered it in acrylic paint with a large brush. When dry I chose some coloured papers, vintage papers and music sheets and collaged with them over the paint. I felt I was able to draw freely then and drew her face with vine charcoal. Finally I painted Delilah leaving some of the underlying papers and paint to show through, adding colour and texture to her.
