Item details

This vessel includes both bas-relief and 3 dimensional sculpture. A small field-mouse sits among mushrooms, leaves and acorns. Around the edges, yellow corn sways in a gentle breeze. Each element is sculpted with precision and detail. Made in stoneware with the use of both under-glaze and oxides. A light glaze is finally applied with a small brush to highlight only some detail. This vessel creates a scene often hidden from our eyes; a glimpse into the secret world of British wildlife.

Measuring 27cm in diameter with an outside depth of 6 centimeters.

There is a hidden world beneath our feet, often hidden from our sight and without our knowledge.It is these precious visual gems that I try to recapture with these bowls. I create a miniature world enclosed within these surrounded walls. A glimpse in to the secretive world of British wildlife.
