This piece took a considerable amount of time to be finished. For a long time I simply strung a chain though the middle, letting the pendant hang and move as it wanted. Eventually I added a small post at the rear of the piece so it sits more flat on the neck.

The cloud pendant began as a silver ring and some pieces of straight silver wire. Slowly but surely I bent and moved the wires into different shapes and fitted them around the ring, and gradually the idea I’d worked out in my head and on paper became a reality.

During the making process, as I find with all my work, the piece seemed to form like magic in my hands. Somehow it becomes something that feels just right, and before I know it, I’ve created something that feels and looks unusual and unique. The final step is to decide on the finish of the piece. For this pendant the surface has been textured.

It has been a real labour of love creating this design – I adore wearing this necklace!
