During this workshop you will transfer a piece of text to fabric using embroidery stitches and then create a design to embroider that complements the text used. The text could be an extract from a book, a quote, a poem or saying – the choice is yours. To begin the workshop we look at basic design and transfer skills and styles of writing to allow you to create a piece of work unique to you. We then progress on to embroidering the text and design using a variety of hand embroidery stitches appropriate to your design and text chosen. The work can be turned into a greetings card, wall art, bookmark, front for a bag or cushion – or anything else you can think of.

All materials are included, but please bring your chosen piece of text and a basic embroidery kit with embroidery scissors and needles in a variety of sizes. Refreshments are included.

Suitable for all levels, from complete beginner to advanced.

The workshop is held at Saltburn Community Arts Association, Albion Terrace, Saltburn TS12 1JW from 6-9 pm. There's plenty of on road parking.

As this is a workshop full refunds will only be given if you cancel your place more than 14 days prior to the workshop. If less than 14 days notice is given refunds will only be made if your place can be filled.
