Item details

"Pereira" is a vintage-inspired floral tea dress. Its ruched sleeves and button down front, coupled with a slightly flared skirt, are designed to bring a fun and feminine vibe to your look. It has a v-neck and fitted bodice, perfect for a laid back summery look, or couple with ankle boots and a cardigan into the winter.

The bodice is fully lined and with front and back darts, and the skirt is gathered at the waist. The dress has a side closure of a small concealed zip between the underarm and the pocket, as well as buttons down the front to the waist. As with all my garments, this dress has in-seam pockets!

The Pereira's fabric is a beautifully soft, light and very comfortable 100% cotton lawn in a bright floral print. This dress can be made in any of my other fabrics too, please send me a message.

The skirt measures around 75cm from waist to hem, and is designed to sit just below the knee. The skirt can be made longer or shorter - please feel free to get in touch.

It is designed to be close fitting and flattering on top, the bodice sits on the waist and the skirt falls freely over the hips. Made from cotton, it isn't stretchy, but I do try and make all my garments a comfortable fit.

I love the look of vintage tea dresses; I first fell in love with them from the film The Edge of Love - you know the scene when Vera and Caitlin are down on the Welsh beach in the wind and rain? They are both wearing 1940s tea dresses and warm woolly cardigans. What a look! So I made this Pereira tea dress after I found some perfect floral fabric. It's vibrant and bright, with reds, yellow and blues, and looks amazing as a tea dress I think. I made this design a little longer than my other dresses; as any self-respecting wartime lady would wear :)
