"Figueira" is a paisley skater dress with elbow length sleeves and a boat neckline. Its fitted bodice meets the big gathered skirt at the waistline, and the flattering neckline swoops round to a rounded back. Simple yet elegant, ideal for parties and the girl around town!

The bodice is fully lined and with front and back darts, and the skirt is gathered at the waist. The dress has a concealed zip down the back. As with all my garments, this dress has in-seam pockets!

The Figueira's fabric is a medium weight quality 100% cotton with a fabulous yellow and blue paisley. This dress can be made in other fabrics too, please send me a message if you'd like it made in any of my other fabrics.

The skirt meansures around 65cm from waist to hem, the skirt is designed to sit just above the knee. The skirt can be made longer or shorter - please feel free to get in touch.

The Figueira is designed to be close fitting and flattering on top, the bodice sits on the waist and the skirt flares freely over the hips. Made from cotton, it isn't stretchy, but I do try and make all my garments a comfortable fit.

12 - bust 92cm - waist 72cm
14 - bust 97cm - waist 77cm

I couldn't resist buying this beautiful golden paisley cotton; it has a weight and quality to it that I love, not to mention the fantastic colours and print. The classic shape of this dress lent itself perfectly to the fabric, giving a really flattering and simple cut. I had previously made myself a couple of dresses in this design, and couldn't stop wearing them; the neckline and back are perfect for the heat, yet the sleeves are inspired by 1940s' wear and give a nice covering. And of course, the skirt is big to contrast with the fitted bodice, all aspects that I've found to make a uniquely classic but contemporary look.
