Item details

Created on a piece of reclaimed solid oak, this artwork measures 19cms x 28cms, and approx. 17mm thick. The featured vehicle is a Bedford CA Dormobile camper van from the 1960s, with its famous pop-up roof. Two brass hanging hooks are attached, together with jute twine, so it comes all ready to hang; the reverse has felt pads in each corner to protect walls.

The Bedford CA Dormobile was a familiar sight on UK roads and campsites throughout the 50s, 60s and 70s, with its sliding cab doors and candy-stripe canvas on the pop-top roof. Attending lots of classic vehicle shows/rallies, I get to see some lovely restored examples of this vehicle, so decided to pay homage with a wood burning.
