At this follow on workshop you will learn how to take your basic Cross Wheel button work further by adding patterns of surface ridges and beads. The finished buttons can be little works of art and make great brooches.
We will again be using a brass ring as the base for the buttons and working with cotton. I will provide all the materials you will need but you may like to bring your own choice of threads and small beads (size 8, 9 or 10) for incorporating into your buttons.
If you can, please bring with you a selection of sewing needles (blunt and pointed) and a pair of small, sharp scissors, but don’t worry if you can’t as these will be available.
Previous experience of making Dorset Cross Wheel Buttons is required for this workshop.
The workshop will take place on Tuesday 5th March 2019 from 14.00 to 16.00 at the Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts, Middle Farm Way, Poundbury, Dorchester DT1 3AR.
Developing the traditional craft skills of Dorset cross wheel button making for enthusiasts and introducing patterns and beads.
