Unique Tear shaped wooden hand mirror featuring an oringinal Loie&Co design on the reverse.

The front of this interesting mirror features a pyrographed design sitting at the base of the tear drop shape. An over hanging flower has been created using traditional wood burning techniques. The centre of the flower is to the edge of the shape with it's pointed petals reaching out up to the tip of the tear where seven dots frame the outer edge.

The rim of the tear shape has been burnt so the wood is a darker brown around the edge. The side containing the mirror has a leaf motif towards the tip of the tear with burnt dots surrounding the circular mirror.
The wood has been left plain to give a more natural feel to the overall design and has been finished with a gloss varnish that has a subtle glitter effect within that sparkles when it catches the light.

The mirror has a light blue patterned ribbon from which it can be hung from or go over the wrist when holding the mirror in hand.

In size it measures 11cm x 6.8cm with a thickness of 1.8cm. The mirror measures a diameter of 5.7cm aprx
Due to it's size, it can act as a travel mirror fitting into a small cosmetics bag etc.

This was an interesting shaped piece that I just had to try out. I love the fact that due to the hole near the tip of the tear; I could add a ribbon as a finishing touch- which makes this piece into a charming little hanging decoration that can be turned over to reveal the mirror (pratical as well as pretty).

This flower design sits perfectly in this tear shape and love the over hang effect.
