This box was a bit of an experimental project for me. I wanted to add a bit of colour to the ground whilst not fully covering the box, so that when I pyrographed a design on to it the colour could come through the wood burning. After using sprays of ink for the ground I decided that the green tones were quite tropical and so wanted a design to fit in with the colour. I decided the swiss cheese palm leaves were a classic tropical leaf and burnt thicker lines to give more contrast between burnt tone and green ground shades.
