This Motel light-box is made from an up-cycled wood box, with a walnut stained and varnished, vintage-look finish. It features a photo I took on a road trip to New Mexico of a wonderfully rusty Motel sign. The motel was no longer there, just the sign.
The image is professionally printed onto a tiny sheet. The artwork is protected by a sheet of clear 2mm acrylic. I have soldered 3 strips of mini LED lights into each box which give a lovely soft light. There is a mains connector, lead and plug included. No worrying about batteries running out. There is also a nifty little side on/off switch for easy access.

The image is of an old, rusty motel sign I found on a road trip to New Mexico 12 years ago. Route 66 runs through some desolate land. Los Alamitos motel had long since gone but the sign stood bravely on advertising its non-existent rooms . I love the bold graphics and rusty texture of this sign and thought it would be great to give the sign a new lease on life.
