Reproduced from an original paintings by Janet Mayled of her observations of allotments and the three include 'Poppies in the allotment', 'Slumbering beds' and 'Resting Place'

I have been painting allotments for over 20 years and think that the fascination will never end. Gardeners create such fantastic spaces, will an eclectic use of found objects such as the door way created in 'Resting place' , a surround was created above the gate from wood even though there are no walls. I also like the seat with the jumper on it, suggesting the gardener who has recuperated after their toil.
