G’Day and welcome to my shop of Jewellery delights! I create one of a kind mixed media jewellery from my home studio in Cornwall
Next dates I will be at St Ives Guildhall are: 28th Aug, 11th Sept & 25th Sept 10.00 - 4.00!
My new pretty fish shaped stud earrings have been featured in Folksy's Favourites! Fish them out in the From the Seashore or Earrings category!
I accept commissions and can usually make an item a different colour if you prefer, just drop me a line!
These gorgeous stud earrings fill my passion for fossils! They've been made using UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) also called Jewel Enamels or Embossing Crystals. Jewel Enamels are mainly used in the craft industry but are also extremely versatile that can melt at a medium-high temperature and poured into silicone moulds!
For these earrings I created a silicone mould from a genuine Ammonite fossil in my personal collection. These are mirror image as I've taken moulds from both sides. I have mixed this colour combination of Jewel Enamel myself - a combination of light and dark pewter with a hint of silver & gold mica powder swirled in to give a hint of shimmer. I have added slight touches of silver gilding wax (contains real silver!) to show texture.
I've glued high quality hypoallergenic surgical steel studs to the back with special jewellery glue and added rubber backs to hug them to your ear lobes!
These Ammonite earrings are lightweight but pack a punch measuring 1.5cm width by 2cm in length with a depth of approximately 0.7 cm. Due to the unique nature of these earrings, there may be slight variances to each earring, but these hopefully just enhance their fabulous quality and uniqueness! Each one will be unique and won't ever be repeated - a fabulous work of geology and fossil-hunting style art on your ears!
They come to you safe and carefully packaged in a UK Made eco-friendly recycled kraft card earring box - perfect for gifting
Ever since I was a child, I've been fascinated about fossils - of dinosaurs and other marine animals like Ammonites! Trying to think of a way to use my fossils and create jewellery, I hit on an idea to use silicone moulds, then fill them with any sort of medium, like Jewel Enamels! This particular ammonite, which I made two moulds from each side is mirrored and they measure 1.5cm wide x 2cm long, with a depth of approximately 0.7cm.
