Handmade moulded scallop shell necklace in fine silver clay with an accent bead in light blue glass.
Necklace chain sterling silver - 45cm.

Scallop shells are so beautiful, with their delicate fan shape and their translucence. They remind me of Spain where people used to carry them on pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela and where you can often find them washed up on the coast. This silver version is moulded and shaped by hand and after being fired and polished has been given a liver of sulphur patina which brings out the shell ridge details. Its colour is accentuated by a small sky blue crystal glass bead.
