I discovered that slate makes the most beautiful canvas when I visited a reclamation yard a couple of years ago and picked up a used slate to use for our house number. The colours and textures on the slates tell a story on their own and each one is unique.
Each picture that I paint on the slates is hand painted and individual. They often include a moon, but not always.
I paint with predominantly gouache and sometimes acrylic and after a picture is painted, I seal it with a varnish to protect the picture and enhance the colours on both the slate and the picture painted on it.
With all my original paintings, you are buying a design and not necessarily the one that you see in the images above. Therefore, as they are individually painted, there will be some small variations to the design shown. Please let me know if there is any changes you would like and I can see if I can accommodate them. Bigger changes would then become a commission piece and these start at £70.
