This piece was inspired by a photo I took on a walk at Magor Marsh nature reserve. I was walking through the hay field on a warm summers day and this snake was sunbathing right in front of me. He stayed very still while I quickly took a photo using my mobile phone, then he slithered away none the worse for our meeting. I entered the photo into Gwent Wildlife Trusts photography competition and came second which I was very proud of.
