This is a One of a Kind Hand made clock put together over many weeks in our garage by Ernest (now workshop) with wood veneers. Soft Golden Yellows and Forest Green with Neutral give a Country feel and look to this clock.
Each of the veneers which were dyed in Italy has been sanded by hand so that they fit together as tightly as possible.
The edges are made from ancient "bog oak" which has been buried in fields in East Anglia and we have been told that the timber has been carbon dated to 3000 years B.C.
I have put a megaquartz clock mechanism in the back of the clock. It needs one AA battery which is not included.
Approx. size: 353 x 180 x 28 mm or 14 x 7 x 3 inches (including clock mechanism).
I chose the 3 colours that make up this wall clock. Ernest sandwiched the veneers so that they could be laser cut into cubes. He then sanded each one before laying it onto board. Once dry he gently sanded the wood by hand before applying a sealer to bring out the soft colours.
He then cut the surround of bog oak and applied it to the edges. Once fully dry Ernest waxed the clock face. heH then put a sheet of veneer on the reverse side and once cured put in the clock mechanism and finally the hands.
