An upcycled lamp made from a mystery object!
When I bought it I was told it was either a 'muddler' or a 'masher'. These old kitchen tools were used for pounding food. However, after further research I also think it might be part of an agitator from an early washing machine. If you know what it is please contact me as I'd love to know!!!
Either way it makes a great talking point and, after restoration, looks like a classic lamp. I've cleaned and waxed it, added a hand turned knob where the cable exits, a copper tube and a hand turned piece of ash to accommodate the light fitting. Can be used with or without a shade. All in all a fabulous lamp that would look good in any interior.
I enjoyed restoring and reusing this interesting object and hope you like it as well.
Base - covered in green baize to protect your furniture.
Flex - 'old gold' braided 3 ply flex, 3m long fitted with a standard UK plug (3amp fuse).
Size - height 49cm, base diameter approximately 13cm.
The lamp doesn't include a bulb but I can provide an Edison bulb for an additional £10. Please contact me if you would like this option.
Will ship worldwide but bear in mind UK fittings have been used.
