I have visited France and the area of Amiens as part of my French studies at school. Decades ago a no mans land, which are now fields of crops and meadow flowers.
My husband is retired Forces. My Grandad told me stories about his experiences in the war, the rations at home and his siblings being split up and sent away from home.
