Hand dyed Corriedale:
My dyeing process means no two braids are ever identical, but you can find others from the same small dye batch in my store.
I only use commercially prepared, top quality dyes in my work to ensure good light and colour fastness.
After being hand rinsed my fibres are slowly air dried to allow them to relax and fluff back out, making them easy to work with.
Corriedale Wool -
At 25 Micron this batch of Corriedale wool tops has been specially selected for it's fineness.
A cross between Merino and Lincoln breeds, Corriedale provides a fine fibre that is slightly coarser than a Merino, which many spinners and felters prefer as it is slightly harder wearing whilst retaining the luster of the Merino.
100g / 3.5 ounce braid
You will receive the braid of fibre in the photographs.
I try to get the best representation of colours in my photos, however all monitors are different and it may show up slightly differently on yours.
If you have any questions please get in touch, I am online most days and always happy to talk about fibres!
Combed Wool Top has all the fibres combed parallel to each other, to spin a smooth, Worsted spun yarn. Unlike roving made from carded fibre, Combed wool Top has all the nepps and shorter fibres removed during the combing process, leaving just the 'Top' quality fibres. Combed wool top is often referred to as Roving online, if you are unsure just get in touch.
