Daffodils at Bolton Abbey
A beautiful machine embroidered picture of Daffodils at Bolton Abbey. From an original photograph by Matthew Hartley.
My work originates from distinctive photographs which I deconstruct and manipulate to recreate a living, communicative artwork. Unlike the original photograph which is ‘flat’, I bring them to life by creating additional dimensions, such as colour, reflective light, shadows, volume, form and texture. My work is crafted on canvas, with an array of coloured embroidery threads added by both machine and hand, using the needle and thread in the same manner as artists use their brushes and mediums. Not dissimilar to techniques used in the art of oil painting and should be viewed in a similar manner.
Actual Art Work Dimensions: 260.00 x 195.0mm (10.23 x 7.67 inches)
External Mount Dimensions: 305 x 406mm (12 x 16 inches)
In excess of 200000 stitches.
The work is embroidered on a canvas, stretched and mounted in a plain white mount and backed ready for a frame of your choice. Presented in a clear Celophane bag. The embroidery can be kept clean (if unglazed) using a damp cloth.
All artwork is created especially for you within three weeks and sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
