I decided to make this bag as I needed the kind of bag which was lightweight yet sturdy enough to carry heavy items such as my shopping, library books, other items that I carry in a handbag such as my mobile phone, cosmetics, purse, diary, umbrellar, i-pad, etc. without feeling too much weight on my shoulder. In order to make it even more comfortable whilst resting on my shoulder I decided to bind the top of the bag with some leather binding I made some similar shaped bags especially for carrying items . with me to the beach which are also listed in my Folksy shop. So with a litle bit of adjustment to the design this is the bag I came up with and I find it fits the bill perfectly.
I then decided to add a matching pouch so that if I needed to carry my smaller items such as purse, cosmetics, keys, etc separately from my main bag then this pouch would be very handy indeed.
