This charming little Mouse is inspired by the characters of Jane Austen.

She is made from recycled cream cotton which has a subtle occasional floral print, and has beady black eyes (for searching out her Mr Darcy!) and a velvety brown nose
Her plum coloured cotton gown has taupe spots, and is complemented by white lace trim at the base of her dress and lace ruff underneath her poke bonnet, which is also trimmed with a fabric rosette centred with a pearly hexagonal button. She wears a matching pink ribbon around her bodice tied at the back with a bow, and a teeny tiny button fastens the top of her dress.
She has daringly lifted her hem (Oh Mr Darcy!) to display her delicately embroidered underskirt (white cotton) and plum velvet slippers which come complete with tiny beads to match the ones around her neckline.
Like any fashionable Regency Mouse she carries a small reticule which matches her gown so that she may easily carry her handkerchief and calling cards when out and about.

Elizabeth can stand alone and is approximately 9 inches / 23cm tall.

Please note that Elizabeth is not a toy but a collectable character doll.
Although her eyes, nose and stuffing conform to safety standards, she is not designed to be played with by small children.

Elizabeth is inspired by a Regency Mouse Doll (Rebecca) that I made from a kit when I was a teenager.
She stood on my Mother's dressing table, being loved and treasured for many years until Mum passed away.
Remembering how much I had enjoyed making her (at the time she was entirely hand-sewn without the aid of a sewing machine), I began to search the internet to hopefully buy the kit again.
Unfortunately, I discovered that the company that made it went out of business many years ago and there is nothing like her available these days. So, with trembling hands, I began to take apart the now very delicate mouse. I managed to do this with very little damage and made a pattern from the pieces. Luckily, I was also able to successfully put her back together again afterwards!

Mum would be so pleased to know that Rebecca now stands on my sewing table for me to now look at every day, as she used to do!
