A copper pendant, in an eccentric heart shape with two lengths of silver wire fused onto it. The wire is fused to the copper by heating them with a blow torch. Some interesting patterns result from this technique, the silver often spreads across the surface in a feathery pattern.
This is one of my copper and silver fused experiments, These began by me trying to make specific shapes from silver wire and fusing it to the copper. Sometimes the shape ended up as I intended it but more often it melted in an unexpected way. After a while I began to simplify the designs, single pieces of wire which extend beyond the edges of the copper shape. I've found this more satisfying and some of the unexpected results have given the effects of feathers or water.
