Item details

An original handmade print created with a combination of monotype and linocut techniques. The monoprint background has been built up with monochrome layers, with a translucent top layer of burnished metallic gold.

This print features one of our best-loved and familiar birds, the magpie as he sits in a wooded thicket of beautifully textural foliage. The colours are in subtle monochrome, with the upper layers being in shimmering metallic golds and bronzes. The magpie is printed onto the monotype background using a linocut background. There are two variations of this print - one of each available for purchase.

These prints come signed, dated and mounted. They are presented in A4 sized black box frames, ready for hanging in the perfect place in your home. Image size - 8"x11.75".

Orders placed in the UK will be sent by Royal Mail 1st Class.

Inspired by my love of birds, I wanted to make a print which combined my two favourite methods of working - monotype and linocut. The result is a cheeky magpie, surrounded by a rich and beautiful canopy of leaves and patterns.
