You know how it goes - dark mornings early start for work and you can't see whether your tights/stockings are black or navy. Suddenly that seductive lighting doesn't seem like a good idea. Only when you get to work do you realize your tights/stockings don't match your outfit.

With these pretty drawstring bags you will no longer have to peer in half light at your underwear. Using vintage fabric I have appliquéd onto the bags the word 'black' or 'navy" using free motion embroidery. All the seams are French seams - which means the raw edges of the seams are hidden and therefore no ragged edges to catch on your delicates.

Each bag measures 33cm x 28cm. To give you some idea of its capacity I have managed to get 8 pairs of tights loosely stuffed in it.

The drawstring is a satin ribbon which pulls to one side. Using this method means you can keep the bag on the hook whilst pulling tights out of it.

I keep all my tights/stockings in a drawer. All muddled together - I'm sure I'm not the only one! But every winter, when I needed them most I just couldn't tell the difference between black and navy. I tried making a couple of different bags stamped or written on and then I got into free motion embroidery and whilst using this method to create an advent calendar it suddenly came to me to make this design.
