Item details

This is a small and intricately embroidered bird in a coastal landscape. The background is hand stitched over layers of fabrics, including cotton, chiffon and silk using embroidery silks and cotton threads. The bird is stitched in felt, threads and a small feather.
The piece measures 5.5cm by 5.5cm and is mounted within a black mount measuring 9.3cm by 9.3cm.
The piece will be posted out in it's cardboard mount ready to be framed.

I live close to the sea on the North Kent coast. I often walk along the shingle beach and look at the local birds and seascape. I am inspired by my immediate surroundings of the wild sea, the cliffs and the downland habitats of the many birds, animals and plants that live here.
