Unique, hand appliquéd, 100% cotton, ethically sourced ADULT T-shirt with designs inspired by nature and science.

The technique I use to apply my design is perfect for stretch fabrics. Traditional appliqué (close sewn zigzag stitch) would create a puckered edge and holes in the T-shirt that would eventually ladder. This technique uses two lines of connecting single-line stitching that hold the design in place and then stabilise it. It is permanent and washable and the tiny frayed edges which will appear, just adds to its charm.

After more than ten years of hand-painting these jute bags I have decided to change my career and close my Folksy shop after Christmas. These are the last few bags that I have in stock and I am hoping that you will find something you like.

Ever since my kids were young, creating T-Shirts without company logos and TV characters has been my motivation and now I have created a line for adults. They are wonderfully geeky and nature-inspired and I can create them in lots of sizes, medium, large and extra large. Each T-shirt is slightly different and therefore unique depending the piece of fabric I choose to appliqué.

I chose Gildan T-shirts because they have a high ethical rating. This company do not employ anyone under the age of 18, they do not make use of forced labour, they pay the legal minimum wage plus overtime and they provide a safe and heathy working environment for all their employees. This is important to me, I hope it is to you.
