This is a handmade machine stitched fabric textile pomegranate.
Made from layers of fabric including silk and hand dyed Egyptian cotton using the free machine embroidery style of sewing
I have cut away one of the sections and added glorious glass beads that remind me of the pomegranate seeds.
This is a free standing piece of textile art, inside the pomegranate are some weights to counteract the weight of the glass beads. These are lose but covered in plastic, a quick jiggle of the pomegranate will get them in the right place for the pomegranate to sit exactly where you want it to be.
Size approximately 5.5" x 5.5"
This will arrive wrapped in tissue paper and sent to you by 1st class mail in the UK the same or next day and worldwide too.
I've always been passionate about pomegranates, as a young child my Dad would often bring one home from the market during the season, I love the taste, whether it be the fresh seeds straight from the pod or sprinkled over salads, I love pomegranate juice too, especially grenadine, I love Granada, where pomegranates grow in abundance, this city in Spain is named after the fruit. I love to draw them too. So, I'm delighted to have made a 3D version of this fruit, with the seeds spilling out, I think it has captured the essence of the pomegranate.
