This design was originally created for a friend's birthday present. I liked the chain of circles and have played around with various lengths, materials, but this seemed to be a good formula so I have made several variations! It is made with one thread, so you have to carefully plan the beads before you start and string them onto the yarn, adding them in reverse order as you go!
There are no plastic or metal rings inside the ring neckband, I came up with a pattern to make them without anything inside. It is a balance between size of ring and weight of yarn used, but they are sturdy enough to keep their shape. As it is 100% cotton, it is easy to re-shape if necessary by laying under a damp cloth and teasing back into shape with the fingers. It sits nicely on the collar bone, the beads keep the shape of the necklace as they add just a little weight to the ends.
