A print in a limited edition of 30, numbered and initalled by the artist on the back. Because of the hand printing process, each print is unique and will look a little different to the illustration.
Letter press type, handmade paper and wood cut illustrations give an authentic look, with text from a ballad of the 1660s about Chatham and the Dutch Wars. It measures 64 x 45 cm and is unframed and unmounted, supplied in a roll. The paper is made at Frogmore Paper Mill. Makes a great gift for Men or Maids of Kent, or any history lover!
These ballads were printed as part of the anniversary celebrations of the "Medway Raid" that happened at Chatham in Kent in 1667. For two days a replica printing press printed these ballad sheets on the spot so that visitors could see 17th century technology in action. The best 30 were selected to make this edition. There will never be any more.
