A pair of handknitted gloves in a classic Norwegian design. The glove shape, construction, patterns and motifs are all characteristic of the Selbu tradition.
The Norwegian Elkhound (Elghund) is an ancient northern Spitz-type breed of dog and is the national dog of Norway. The Elkhound has served for centuries as a hunter, guardian and herder. It is known for its courage in tracking and hunting moose (or elk) and other large game, but is also valued as a family pet. Norwegian Elkhounds have been found buried in Viking burial grounds.
These gloves are knitted from Drops 100% Alpaca wool. They are flexible, warm and very soft. Drops is a Norwegian company though this yarn is actually made in Peru. They should be gently hand washed at 30 degrees or below and dried flat.
The colours are a subdued purple and dusty pink and they will fit a medium men's or medium to large women's hand.
