Framed collage using reclaimed pottery, stone and driftwood. The scene features a painted grey seal basking on a piece of driftwood. In the background, a tiny yellow cottage sits on a driftwood harbour wall. Wire wrapping has been added to create seagulls and fish. The piece comes in a white wood box frame which measures 10.5cm square (Item:423)
This was handmade by East Neuk Beach Crafts in Fife, Scotland, UK from local sea pottery & driftwood, washed up on our beautiful beaches. Our driftwood pieces are created using wood collected from the beaches in Fife. Much of this is likely to be old pieces of boats and broken up fishing creels. We then let our imagination run wild, adding seagulls, puffins, boats to create little scenes with pottery, shells and more driftwood!
I live in Anstruther on the beautiful East Neuk of Fife. After a long day, I love to wander the beaches and search for unusual and interesting things that have washed up along the coastline. Everything is made with the treasures I find while beach-combing, including driftwood, old pieces of boats, sea glass, antique sea pottery (some I've dated back to over 100 years!), shells and other miscellaneous finds :-)
