I love to see what lies beneath the bark come inside and see what I mean
Stylish needle holder made from English Hornbeam wood which has beautiful grain features all around it, the box lid has a hand turned screw thread to ensure it stays nice and snug and a Kaleidescope design has been pyrographed on the lid. It measures 80mm tall and is 46 mm at its widest point, internal depth is 60mm max. After sanding the box has been finished on the inside and outside with beeswax and buffed to a soft sheen.
I am now able to make screw thread boxes but thread cutting can only be done in hard dense woods and this native is pale in colour. I shall continue to use the rubber ring method for other wood such as cherry etc. This holder would be ideal for sewers to take out to craft fairs or craft classes etc. If you wanted one to take longer needles then please email me and I can look at a custom order. A lovely useful and very tactile gift!!
